What happens if the internet goes out?

Answer

No problem. FTX AdPlayer is designed to continue displaying the last content update that it received. Once your internet connection is restored, it will check for any updates and seamlessly switch to the latest changes.

Where do I manage my devices and create or edit my content?

Answer

You can do everything needed from one simple website - the FasTrax Control Center. This allows you to manage devices, edit content, create content, make advertisements, and everything needed to manage your digital advertising.

Can the digital signage be utilized on a secondary customer display on the POS?

Answer

Yes! The POS secondary displays can integrate seamlessly with the digital signage platform, giving another way to show advertisements, promotions, and incentives in your store(s)!

Can the devices connect to WiFi?

Answer

Yes, our Android devices have a built-in WiFi adapter. You can connect to your local WiFi network in much the same way as on a smartphone or tablet. (However, we do recommend running a physical ethernet network cable to the device, if possible, as that is more stable, more secure, and requires almost zero setup in the device.)

Can I add my own images and logos?

Answer

Yes. If you have fully-formed ad images with dates, prices, and pictures, you can add these materials to your Advertisements library. Alternatively, with the built-in AdPro design tool, you can upload individual logos and images to create your own custom advertisements in-house.

What image file types are supported?

Answer

All common image types (JPG, GIF, PNG, PDF, etc) are supported everywhere that you can upload an image in Control Center. Any layout or space where an image can be added includes the size reference for that space.

Where are the brand name images?

Answer

Do to the nature of copyright protected images and trademarked logos, we are unable to provide most product logos in our library. However, as a retailer or distributor you have the ability to request images, logos, and promotional materials from vendors and manufacturers to advertise the products you sell. You can then upload those images and logos into your Advertisements library or into AdPro.

Do I need to design a complete display for every device?

Answer

No, multiple devices can use the same display. If you have a television at the same spot inside multiple locations, you only need to design that content once, then you can assign it to all of those televisions quickly and intuitively via the FasTrax Control Center.

How long does it take to make the content for a display?

Answer

Each display is different. Creating a complex display, with multiple original menu boards that change throughout the day and use custom images and prices, may take hours especially while you are first learning. As you become more practiced with the Control Center, you will be able to create a new display from scratch using existing images in only a few minutes. It is simple and intuitive, so anyone can become experienced in very little time!

Can I set how often the pictures change/stay on screen?

Answer

Yes! When building a promotion slideshow, you can set each advertisement to your choice of time increments, from 5 seconds to 2.5 minutes, and you can do this for up to 20 different ads before the promotions repeat. This gives you complete control, so that you can have a new slide every 10 seconds, or alternate between a 1 minute menu and a 5 second ad, or any of countless other combinations. With the Daypart scheduler, you can even have a different set of advertisements for different parts of the day.

Can I set different access for different users?

Answer

Yes, as the account administrator, you can create "User Roles" that allow you to set different permissions for what your other users can see and edit.

How hard is the device to set up?

Answer

Very simple. The device needs an HDMI cable to the television, a nearby outlet for power (power adapter included), and an internet connection. Once everything is connected and powered on, the software will walk you through the setup and online registration.

Do I need a keyboard and mouse connected to the device?

Answer

No. The first time you connect your device, it will display how to register the device by logging in to your Control Center account. You will manage all registered devices through the Control Center.

Can I play video ads?

Answer

Yes. Videos, including sound, can be uploaded or linked. They can run continuously on one display or be interspersed throughout your other promotions.

Is this a “Push” or “Pull” for the update method?

Answer

Our content uses a “Pull” method for updating. The Pull method allows ads to be uninterrupted by loss of internet, lowers the risk of breaches to network security, and lowers the risk to PCI compliance

Does FasTrax control my content?

Answer

No, you do. We host your content on our servers online, but you have complete control.

What are my internet requirements to use this device?

Answer

We recommend a constant internet connection of any speed. The device supports up to Gigabit LAN connections and is wireless compatible with 2.4GHz and 5GHz 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wifi. However, due to its “Pull” method of updating, the device will download its content as able, no matter the speed, and seamlessly apply those updates once it is done. This makes it compatible with virtually every currently available internet speed.
