The coronavirus pandemic has taken a hard toll on everybody, whether you’re a consumer who’s been laid-off, a business owner who is either forced to shut down or attempt to set-up an online ordering platform, a restaurant with only curb-side pickup, an essential worker pushing through this, or a first responder, nurse, healthcare professional doing your best to stay positive and do your job the best you can, even without all the right tools. We have all been affected by this pandemic, but in order to get through this we need to stick together (separately) and support our local communities.
As a consumer, give back to your community by ordering take-out from local restaurants, reach out to your elderly neighbor and ask if they need anything from the store, foot the bill for the EMT or officer ahead of you in the drive-thru line. Every little bit helps on pushing us forward towards the light at the end of the tunnel.
As a business owner, reach out to your fellow small business owners and see how you can team up, host an online fundraiser for a local hospital, offer free or discounted meals or services to first responders and healthcare workers. There are no competitors in times like these, we are stronger together.
Tobacco Junction’s example of community support is a seemingly small yet very powerful gesture. It’s relatively simple to set up an event like this and will not only help show your support for fellow business owners, but will show your community’s thanks and appreciation for first responders and healthcare workers. It’s an overall win for everybody involved!
