What's New in This Release
A redesigned top bar that does more
The top bar in FTx POS has been updated with three new tools: a dark mode toggle, a scheduler, and a notifications panel. These controls are accessible at any point during a transaction, so cashiers and managers don't need to exit the point-of-sale (POS) screen to use them. Each one is designed to reduce the number of steps needed for common actions that used to require navigating away from the register.
Dark mode
FTx POS now supports a dark mode display that can be toggled directly from the top bar. This is particularly useful for stores with lower ambient lighting—bars, tobacco shops, nightclubs—where a bright white screen can create glare and visibility issues. Cashiers can switch between modes without restarting the application or changing any system settings.
Scheduler
The new scheduler gives cashiers and managers the ability to create and manage scheduled tasks directly from the POS. Instead of switching to a separate system or writing tasks down, staff can log what needs to be done and when—without stepping away from the register. This is especially useful for tasks tied to shifts, promotions, or end-of-day routines.
Notifications
A dedicated notifications panel is now accessible from the top bar, giving staff a single place to view alerts and updates relevant to their store or session. Rather than relying on a separate device or back-office login to catch system messages, cashiers can check notifications inline without disrupting the transaction flow.
Faster Customer and Item Lookup
Find customers and items in fewer steps
FTx POS now delivers faster results when searching for customers or items during a transaction. The updated search behavior is designed to surface the right record quickly—whether a cashier is pulling up a loyalty customer, looking up a product by name, or scanning a partial stock keeping unit (SKU). Less time spent searching means shorter lines and faster service, especially during peak hours.
More Control Over Discounts
Manual discounts with built-in permission levels
FTx POS now supports manual discount entry with role-based permission controls. Cashiers can apply manual discounts up to their assigned permission level, while larger discounts require manager approval. This gives stores the flexibility to allow discount adjustments at the register without removing oversight. Managers set the thresholds; the system enforces them automatically.
Gift Card Lookup at the Register
Search and apply gift cards without leaving the checkout screen
Cashiers can now search for a gift card by number and view its current balance directly from the POS checkout screen. This removes the need to look up gift card information in a separate system before processing the transaction. Customers get a faster, cleaner checkout experience, and cashiers have everything they need on one screen.
Customizable Quick Actions
Build a quick actions menu that matches how your store actually runs
The quick actions menu in FTx POS is now fully customizable. Store operators can configure which shortcuts appear in the menu—putting the most-used functions front and center and removing ones that don't apply to their workflow. For high-volume stores, this means cashiers spend less time navigating menus and more time moving transactions through.
Enhanced Receipts and Transaction Details
More information, better organized
Receipt and transaction detail screens have been updated to display more information in a cleaner layout. Cashiers and managers can now view a more complete transaction record directly from the POS, which is useful for handling exchanges, reviewing recent sales, or resolving questions at the register without pulling up a separate report.
Updated Checkout and Tender Flow
A faster path from total to paid
The checkout and tender flow has been redesigned to reduce the number of taps between ringing up items and completing the transaction. The updated flow is more direct—moving cashiers through payment selection and confirmation with fewer screens. For stores processing high transaction volumes, this adds up quickly over the course of a shift.
